3. What are the circled letters next to each question on the left side of the screen?
These flags help you quickly remember the properties of each question based on the options you selected. The following legend explains each letter:
-“R” indicates that the answer choices will be presented to the respondents in a random order.
-“M” indicates a Mandatory question.
-“S” indicates that the Skip logic is activated for this question.
-“P” indicates that the Piping logic is activated for this question.
Note: The magnifying glass next to the question allows you to quick-preview the question as it will appear to the respondent. Simply place your mouse over the image.

4. What is Skip logic, and is it available at Vorex Survey?
A great way to customize the respondent’s experience and add intelligence to your survey, Skip logic is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to direct respondents to certain questions based on their answers on the survey. For example, if question one was “Do you own a car?”, and question two was “What color is your car?”, then you can easily skip question two if a respondent answers “No” to the first question.
How to: From the Question tab, select the “Activate Skip logic for this question” check box at the bottom of the page. A new ‘Skip to Question’ drop down menu next to each answer choice will suddenly appear. Choose which answer choice should skip to a later question and prevent the next question(s) from being displayed. Then select the question number(s) this specific answer should skip to from the newly visible ‘Skip to Question” drop down menu.

5. What is Respondent Screening?
This is an optional feature that allows survey creators to screen respondents based on their answers. For example, an insurance agency may want to survey their customers to see who would be interested in a special low-cost automobile insurance offered to drivers with excellent driving records. The first question might be, “How many traffic tickets have you had in the past 12 months?” If the answer was more than once, then the survey will automatically end.
How to: From the Questions tab, activate the optional Skip logic at the bottom of the page. Choose which answer choices should lead to a screening-out of the respondent. Then from the drop-down menu next to each of these answer choices, choose the End Survey option.

7. Can Vorex Survey alert me immediately when a certain response requires immediate attention?
Yes. This powerful Enterprise membership level feature alerts the survey manager by e-mail if a respondent answers a question with a particular answer. This gives service providers a great opportunity to reach their customers while the door is still open. For example, a business owner might want to immediately know if a customer selects Very dissatisfied for a certain question. This will give the business owner a chance to call this customer immediately to apologize or provide a discount to prevent the loss of this customer. On the other hand, certain positive answer might be a window of opportunity for a successful sale call. If a respondent indicates on a Travel Agency survey an interest in travelling to Europe soon, the travel agent would get this real time alert. An immediate phone call to this customer not only will impress him or her, but can also mean offering a travel package to this respondent while he or she are indicating their interest to travel.
How to: From the Question tab, each answer choice will have a check box to its left side (under a mail envelope image header). If you check the box on any of these answer choices, you will get an email alert every time a respondent chooses this specific answer when completing your survey.

10. What is Answer-Piping?
Answer Piping means inserting the answer from the previous question into the body of a later question. For example, if question one was “What is your favorite soft drink” and the Respondent picked ‘Pepsi’, then the next question can be customized to insert the answer from question one into the body of question two. Question two would look something like “What makes you choose Pepsi over other soft drinks?”. Naturally, this feature works only on certain type of questions.

12. I am trying to change the questions in my existing survey, but the software is not allowing me. Why?
This usually means that you have received a response on your survey. Once that happens, Vorex Survey intentionally locks your questions to protect the integrity of your data; otherwise, your results will not be consistent. You will see the following message when you try to edit a question:
Note : You cannot add/edit quesion(s) when a survey is in deployed state.
To unlock the survey, you can either delete the results in the “Results” tab, or duplicate the survey in the Survey manager Dashboard and start working with the new one.
